Tango South Classes and Events

Our primary aim is to create a safe, friendly and sustainable environment where dancers can enjoy our events and learn effectively.  At Tango South we encourage considerate dancing in the Salon style of Argentine Tango.  We discourage lifts and similar extreme moves more usually associated with Show Tango.

To help it work for you and for us, there are a few ground rules we ask you to follow:

1.    Admission to all Tango South events is conditional on accepting and abiding by these terms and conditions

2.    During our events you will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of other participants, as well as your own.  If you are in any doubt about your ability or fitness to participate in any of our events, you should seek the appropriate professional advice.  We do not offer advice or interventions of a therapeutic nature in any form, explicitly or implicity.

3.    You enter the event and car parks at your own risk. Tango South will not be held liable for any loss, damage or injury of any kind. We do not accept responsibility for any lost or stolen property

4.    The right of admission to all Tango South events is reserved. Participants may be refused entry or ejected at our reasonable discretion for reasons including but not limited to the following:

  • Inconsiderate or poor standards of dancing which could compromise the safety or enjoyment of other dancers
  • Unauthorised teaching of other participants
  • Promoting lessons or events by other organisations
  • Any illness which could be passed to others
  • Any abusive, anti-social or illegal behaviour

5.    Unauthorised photography, audio or video recording is not permitted.  Personal photography and video is usually allowed, provided prior permission has been obtained, and on condition that all material is for your use only, and will not be shared, transmitted or published in any way

  1. By attending a Tango South event you consent to sound recording, photography and filming in which you may be identifiable.  We reserve the right to use this material commercially, including publication on our website and in print

7.    Entrance to all Tango South events is not transferrable or refundable

8.    No refunds will be made to participants who are refused entry or ejected from an event

9.    If an event is cancelled, Tango South shall not be liable for any costs, expenses, or losses incurred, direct or indirect, of whatever kind

10. These conditions are governed by English law. Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

.

Shoes

It is a condition of entry to our  Progressive or Integration Classes that you must have proper dance shoes.  This applies to both men and women, and is for safety as well as technical reasons.  Please see our  Shoes Page for more information.

Tango South Vouchers

General Class Vouchers
These are available in blocks of ten at the discounted price of £75. They are transferable but not refundable. These vouchers are valid for six months from date of issue.

Foundation Programme – Vouchers for first four Classes
Vouchers are valid for two months from date of issue and can be used at any Foundation class within this period. The purpose of this voucher system is to encourage newcomers to Tango to commit to at least four classes in order to gain enough experience to decide whether Tango is for them. For this reason these vouchers are issued to individuals and are not transferrable or refundable. The four voucher set costs £32.

Workshop Payments

Our workshops are usually full and we endeavour to balance the number of Leaders and Followers. For this reason, places are only confirmed on receipt of payment. In the event that you need to cancel a place you have booked, refunds (less a £2 administration fee) are only available if a replacement can be found.
